So on Christmas night I put on the Chrome Tail Light covers. Followed the directions perfectly. Today, they just came off when the dealership was cleaning the car. Did this happen because I installed them while it was cold? The double stick tape did not hold whatsoever.

Should I install with the special 3M glue that you can purchase at Auto Stores?

BTW, the dealership is going to replace; they are going to purchase new ones.

Any ideas on how to make the tail light chrome rings stay on?

Mybe it was too cold. If you have a garage put it inside. Let it warm up and try to use a blow dryer on the car, then put on the rings and apply a little more heat. It works for me when I use the 3m tape. Good luck. P>s. Never used the one from the store unless it was the Industrial Strengh

 

You might want to try a Duplicolor Prep-Wipe they have an adhesion promoter in them that should make the glue on the tape more apt to stick.
