Interior lighting
Ok, this may be a dumb question but here goes...................
Is there any way to turn on ALL inside lights when you ae sitting in the drivers seat?????
This is the only car that I have owned that I can't find a switch to activate the interior lighting.
Very helpful if you have young kids in car seats and they ask you to turn on the lights. The rear light is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY to far back for me to reach.
Thanks

It has been suggested here that safety was an issue. If you need to turn the dome light on to "look" for something, then maybe you should be stopped on the side of the road or in a parking lot. Then you could get to the light via the back door, and just like that, instant dome light!

The kids need the light to buckle their seatbelts = open door.
Open door = should not be in gear.
Not being in gear = vehicle not in motion.
Vehicle not in motion = kids have time to fasten seatbelts.
It's just a vicous cylcle this thing they call saftey!

As a responsible parent, I always latch my son's seatbelt. I would never trust that to him as he is much too young to judge the importance of the action. The door is open when I put him in the seat, so latching it in the dark is never an issue for me.
I agree that having a dash control for the interior lighting would be nice.
We don't on the HHR however, and that's all there is to it.
Since this is a first year-model car, there is always hope that things could change for 2007. Just my $0.02
