I've seen on ebay this invisible paint protection and I was just curious if anyone had used it.Also I was wondering if they make the same thing for the rocker panels.I have to transfer outta my wheelchair into the car and I bump it.No damage yet but I drove my van for about a year and there was no paint left.Although it was a very inexpensive paint job its bound to start happening to my Hotrod.Would anyone like to share?

 

We used to install the 3M brand here at the dealer. Just make sure you get a good quality one and have somebody who knows how to do it install it. If not it will look like ass from certain angles and in certain light. Plus some of the lower quality ones start to yellow after time.

 

It's basically clear vinyl. The stuff on Ebay is really thin and cheap, don't buy it. Go to any tint and vinyl shop in your area and they will paint protect any part of your HHR you want because they will custom cut it to your vehicle. Like snksknr94 said make sure they use a good brand like 3M or Avery.

No it is clear. All paint protection film is clear. Unless it's cheap stuff like you'll find on Ebay then it turns yellow and cloudy over time as previously stated.

 

well now I wonder how gloss black sign vinyl would look..

 

Like s**t! The black vinyl will stand out against the paint.

I would leave paint protection film to a professonal or it is going to look horrible. I'm pretty good at vinyl application and I wouldn't even attempt my own paint protection film. It should be cut by the vinyl machine and not by hand. Attempt if you want but you probably won't be satisfied with the results. IMO shell out a little cash and let a pro do it.
