We've got an LS, but I can't see there being any difference in the gas tanks.
There are other #s on the box too (Don't know what they mean!)
7503141, GT232, and GR.3.028
Here's Alonzie's original post. Maybe some of this info will help. I'll keep looking online and see what I can find.

OK...let's try this. I went to acdelco.com and put in a 99 GMC Sonoma like he had and came up with THIS. He said he took his off the Sonoma and put it on the HHR. Page says keyed alike...so I would presume they are locking although they don't show the key in the image. Will give you some part #'s to work with anyway. There is one there with GT as the beginning, so maybe that's a place to start with someone who carries AC Delco, since his original box had a GT # on it.

I emailed the local Chevy Dealer here in Chandler where I had bought the
'99 Sonoma 4/5 years ago (Used), and the HHR last August. I received this reply this Morning:

Hello ,

Yes the first part # which is 22660005 has indeed changed to
22720375
gas cap . We have one in stock right now and it is $25.78 plus tax .

We can easily obtain more , it's no problem at all . Most GM
dealers
should have this as well .

Thank you ,

This cap looks just like the regular cap (Black Plastic etc.) except that it locks. I don't know what more I can tell ya'll !!

: Those pictures look just like the cap. Evidently those with an "L" after the number are locking caps (It mentions keys)
As I mentioned, the hardest part of exchanging caps was getting the tethers unhooked, then re-attached to the gas door. They're really fastened in there pretty good!

Any chance you could ask that dealer to actually try the one in stock on an HHR on their lot? I tried at my dealer and they did not have that particlular one but were willing to try others for me (non fit).

I'll try to get over there Mon. or Tues. after my Wife gets home from work with the HHR. That way they can try it on our car instead of one up front on their lot.

If the list price of $25.78, as I was just quoted, is for a Locking Cap, I'll bet the $13.41 is the price of regular cap knowing how high OEM prices can be.
I can't see a dealer knocking off almost half of list price on any parts!

Found a locking gas cap for all of you that want to keep your precious commodity secure (gas). Autozone in Ohio (not sure what other states Autozone is in) has them. I just bought mine today and put it on and it doesn't interfere with the door. Autozone's computer pointed out the number specifically for the HHR. Cooling Systems Technologies (CST) manufactures them. Part number is 5504. Below is a scanned pic of the packaging. Hope this helps you out.
