I was at my dealer today, and they told me they can not order me BLACK running boards. I have 12499501 as the part number, and on GM parts direct it says they are discontinued. How am I going to get running boards now? Checked ebay, and there are NONE there. Any help from anyone would be great. My dealer is NEVER any help.

 

I believe in a previous thread, it was mentioned the boards will be sold "ready to paint". Probably your only option, unless you find them in a secondary market, like e-bay.

 

all factory painted hhr "assist steps" are discontinued-they are now only available from gm primed-part number for 2006 HHr primed assist steps with mounting hardware is 19169603-pricing is approximately $465.00-dealer labor is listed at 1.0 hour-hope this help-good luck!!

Damn it. I really do not like dealing with my dealer. Something dumb always happens.

 

I bought my prepainted running boards in March through the dealership parts department.

They still had some in my colour at the Montreal warehouse.

You might be able to still get them from a Canadian dealership if you want to go that route.

 

You can still find the painted ones at the Dealers, but look online for the step bds, even if it is a long distance phone call and it might be another Dealer, a lot I have taked to have no problem in helping you to find the closest Dealer that has your color in stock.
Problem you usually have to order it from a Dealer, you would have to tell your dealer where it is. The Dealer can look it up for you, but some will not do this, but some will. Good Luck

I Bought Running Boards After I Found Out They No Longer Came Painted To Match The Color Of The Car Just In Flat Unfinished Blk. I Also Found Out Thru Trial And Error That Certain Parts To Add On The Running Boards Don't Work But. On The 2007 You Don't Need Them. If You Buy The Add Ons You Must Take Them To Have Them Painted. I Use A Body Shop That Has Done Work For Me Before And I'm Very Happy With The Work. I Had Checked Around And The Cheap Looking Body Shops Wanted The Same Amount To Paint Them As The Reputable One That I Use. Which Is In Califoria. So E Me If You Buy Them And I Can Give You Tips To Install Yourself Without Any Mistakes I Made............
