New Audi Style Lights...

If you are doing projects such as these, you would be well advised to invest in an inexpensive multimeter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multimeter
They are easy to use and it will save you a lot of time, and will pay for itself many times over. Even if someone here posted the correct answer, I would still double check with a multimeter myself.
Multimeters are handy for checking light bulbs and various bulb sockets, as well as tracing wiring faults, and presence of voltages, as well as checking grounding.

Electrical problems...
Well, just so everyone knows. I did you use something like scotchlocks to wire these lights on my car. I have now been driving in crappy Ohio weather for quite a few months and have had no problems at all with the lights failing or shorting out, and we have had snow frequently over the past month. Just thought I would let everyone know.

What about 2 strips?
What about adding a second strip offset a little from the first? I realize the spacing is super tight, but you could potentially remove the lights and maybe dremel a little off the bottom to make a hair more room for the doubled strips...the you would have the "twice as many" look...either that or just really wedge them in there after using the adhesive from one of the strips to stick them together.
Personally I think that is the way I'm going to go since I need to hit up Wally world today anyway. Since I already have the ddm hid bulbs in 55w 6000k, these will match up nicely, both the strips and the headlights super white!
Will be sure to post pics in a thread of my own maybe when I'm done...
