Just wanted to show my new grille. Not sure if you call it a one bar or no bar.

Nice job Stick!!!!

I just prurchased a used grill and am just getting ready to make my own. I plan on it looking very similar. Can you answer a couple of questions that may help me?

1. Did you use GTOMikes one bar grill as your guide line?
2. Where did you get your screen? I have been locking and haven't found anything that wide.
3. do you have any pictures on how you did it?
4. My HHr is the same color paint. Duplicolor does not seel it in the spray can, where did you get your paint?
5. Can you post a picture showing the entire front of the car? I would like to see how it looks that way?

This is a three bar grille that I already had done. Something hit it and made the paint spider crack and peel off, so it had to be redone. The more I got into it the more I didn't like and then just hacked it apart
1.The outer edges are just smoothed down a little and tried to make even, I can't say I used GTOMikes as a guide, but I have seen it and I do like it. I think his though is cut down up top. Could be wrong there though.
2.I got the screen from work It is what we call bird wire or mesh. I could probably get you some, but getting it to you undamaged would be the problem. If you really want it PM me and I let you know where you might be able to get some.
3.Like I stated in the first paragraph, it is just a three bar grille cut down a little. If you go to http://www.socalhhr.citymax.com/3bar.html he shows how to go the three bar. Just take out the center bar too. Cut the bowtie out of the center bar and reattach to the center support. I placed a billet bowtie on the front of mine. Got it off e-bay.
4. Paint came from my local paint jobber. Born paint is my supplier. If you have a Sherwin Williams around you that does automotive paint they should be able to hook you up. Born will actually put it in spray cans that are single stage, where you don't have to clear coat, but they cost $17 a can. If you have a Dupont paint jobber they could do it too. I just prefer PPG and my local is Born. I still cleared mine after the fade and found that the Rustoleum stuff worked good. Surprisingly thought it was the cheapest stuff they had that worked th best. I tried the high end Rustoleum and ended up with flaking, the cheap stuff worked great.
5. Here you go.................

Home Depot has a large piece (roughly 5ft by 2ft) of silver aluminum mesh in the lumber section for about $11.
