New Hood?

Does anyone make a new hood for the HHR? I want something more aggressive, hood scoop, heat extractors, something like that, functional of course.

To the best of my knowledge, no one is making an aftermarket hood. Best option is having one made the way you want it. You can get a dowl from Teazer and make it functional, but you are still left with glassing it on your hood and then cutting out the section. They made me a custom hood which for now is not functional.

What are the odds someone is going to start producing one?

I'd say pretty slim. HHRs haven't exactly set the wotld on fire!

I'd say the best bet would be to get a salvage hood, find the scoop, etc... that you want and then take it to a shop and have it done. Unless you have the skills, I didn't.

I have thought about the idea of a custom hood to go along with all of the other parts I am thinking of producing. Even thought about a one piece unit to include the hood and some kind of sporty looking grill. It is all going to depend on how much interest is shown in the other parts I have on the table.

The problem is the sky high start-up costs, knowing that it is a very small market.

Check out my running board and grill thread. I am getting the prototypes for the running boards and grill for a bit over $3000. Once we get those on the market and they hopefully start to sell, then he wants to do front and rear bumpers. And the hood is the next logical step. To me, it is not the startup cost that would be so much, it is the shipping these days!

Yea that's what I'd like too - old school louvers in the side of the hod. Where can you get that done?
