Other Ways To Attach Front Plate

Ok, first off...wasn't sure where to put this thread, so if a mod wants to put it somewhere more appropriate, please do so.

Now for my question...

Does anyone know if there is any alternative to putting on a front plate bracket so that I wouldn't have to drill holes into my bumper? Is it possible to use double sided tape or anything?

Any ideas? I really wouldn't want to put holes all over it...

It's not that I mind where it goes, I just don't want permanent holes in my car.... (sure I know you can plug them...but that doesn't cut it.)

Around here, the front licence plate is not required anymore, and hasn't been since 1976. I think it's a good thing. IMHO, it's useless. The only plate we put on the front, are plates with flags, or plates with Chevy logos.

Time to ask your government to drop the requirement. You'll save tons of aluminum.

Will try to find it, but saw a mounting bracket online somewhere the mounts under the from bumper. That would keep you from having to drill through visible areas. Will post a link once I find it.

Michigan doesn't require a front plate either. He must be adding a vanity plate.

Ha ha...actually, I'm thinking ahead. I'm getting serious about moving in the next year, and I just don't want to be caught off guard!

Yeah, let me know if you find that link!!! I'd have no problem drilling if it's where you wouldn't see it...that'd be perfect!

On my SS the plate fits in front of the intercooler, so if and when I get stopped I've added a 1" wide 3/8" thick rubber backing around the outer edge of the plate and will zip tie it to pass inspection, there no way in h__l I'm going to drill my bumper

I put my SS plate under the front and used a electric mount that slides it out and up.

I have a plate when I need it and retract it when I don't at the touch of a botton.

And before someone goes off it did not effect my intake temps when up. Enough air still reaches the intercooler.

I have the opposite problem. I'd like to get rid of my mounting bracket.

I've read how they were installed - drilling 2 holes and inserting a fastener IIRC. Any quick advice on how to remove the bracket and hide the holes?

Plate Bracket link

I posted a thread about relocating license plate but could not post link. Look for "relocating front plate" under my threads and you can see what I did with photos.
