Red face Pinstriping ..

One of my buddys does Tint and Pinstripe for a dealership. He also does it on the side at his home. He has been doing it for many years and i was talking to him today about pinstriping. It would be the factory stuff that he applies to every chevrolet on the lot that gets some. He can do little designs or just straight lines down the side..

My question is.. Should i get it done? I choose any color or mix colors.. pick how many stripes, how big/small, ect.. and he is chargin me less than a tank of gas to do everything

Not really for the black,

I had the factory stripes put on mine. I don't think that they would appeal on a black paint job. Maybe blue or red stripes? I have the double smoke on mine.
I like the subdued look that I have. I just don't think it would be the same on a black paint job. Seeing is believing though. Just my 2 cents though.

You know my answer, Paul! ;)

Mine are hand painted (socalpinstiper.com) and figured since they were going to be pink, a subtle design would be best (although Don did point out to me that there is nothing subtle about pink!)
Anything on black will pop out--so go for the color(s) you want and design if any.

get painted if you can. if you enjoy waxing your car the vinyl or whatever its made of stripes grab wax in that little gap between the paint and the stripe. had them on my 1500. i powerwashed them off was tired of gettin wax stuck in em. some people have found how to get around this but i never could.

I voted no. Unless they're black pinstripes.

The dealer charge of $95 for a couple of lines down the side of the HHR isn't worth the money IMHO. If you want a "fancy" pinstripe job, its your money to spend how you want. My HHR is a daily driver, and pin stripes don't make the car run faster, better or more economically.
