Are you in the missile warhead assemby section of your Air Force detachment?

Sorry, Goose, didn't see this....

The 2 washers???? Are you speaking of "star" retaining washers? If so, probably won't hurt to leave then off. I think they were installed to hold "things" snuggly until the washer lock not is threaded on......the thinking is much like the retaining washers used during the assembly process for the rear hubs.

As far as any recommendation on the bug shield...I just can't say. I'm not familar with the design/shape, etc. of the shield for attachment. But, what you did SOUNDS, ok....if it feels secure.

Is the BugFlector preferred over a front-end bra?

Hi, thinking of getting the bugflector ii, I thought they are installed with 3M tape? How did yours fit on? seeing as you had to remove the grill?

I can't find any instructions on this on websites, they all say install with tape...

Thanks!

Nope, no tape. You just unscrew the grill, slip in the deflector and screw it back down. And, andoll83, I can only speak for myself but even though the deflector is ugly, it looks better than rock chips and if you have a bra on for a long time the paint will fade unevenly and will leave an outline of where the bra is and you can also scratch the paint if there is any dirt under it. The nice thing about a bra is, though, that if protects more than just the front edge of the hood, esp. if you get the one that covers the front bumper and the fenders.

A 5 minute job w wifey's help.

Hardly notice it on the Black HHR. i think I would paint it to match if was a diff color vehicle.

Word of advice for anyone taking their grill off for whatever....be very careful on the 2 bottom edges of the hood where it meets the grill...I managed to put 2 nice chips out of the paint there due to the edges of the grill hitting there while trying to take it out. Talk about cheap ass paint! The grill is plastic for crying out loud Once of them even went to the shiny metal I think. Talk about irony...put the guard on to protect against chips and put 2 in even before I road test the damn thing...

Have some pics and you can see what I'm talking about in the first one...actually doesn't look too bad...think it goes well with the color and will look good with the Vent Visors once I get them
