Rear Gate Interior Plastic Panel Removal?

Rear Gate Interior Plastic Panel Removal?
Someone dented my Red Sled in the tailgate! Its the size of a football.
I'm pretty sure if I could get at the sheet metal from behind I could poke it back out pretty well... jeez this metal is thin. Literally tin can.
Does anyone know how easy it is to remove the plastic rear panel inside the gate? And if I do, is there any other metal between the body metal and the plastic panel?

Search rear wiper delete and there are some really good how to's about what you're asking
Ive taken several apart. It's a little daunting at first but it comes off fairly easily. If memory serves, when it's removed you have some access to the outer panel. I do know there are metal ribs that run along the center. So to answer, yes there is access but only in some places. You will see.

when you are removing the plastic that covers your 3rd brake light, make sure you feel for the clips and pull STRAIGHT OUT where the clips are. Same goes for popping(literally) off the panel trim. Get underneath it from one of the sides and again, feel for the clip. It helps to have someone help to do the opposite side at the same time. Also when you take it off, inevitably some of the plastic anchors will come off. Make sure you get them all off and place them on the panel trim. There are 2 locator plastic dowel dealios on each side of the panel to get a starting alignment - when you have all the clips aligned and started- give it a good smack and they will pop in again.
