Removing gold from behind bowtie
#31
Except for the brakes it's the same purple, but with pearl over it.... the brakes will get re-done in a similar color. This is the same color I used on the lower grill and sway bar (sans the flake) and will do other trim in and around the car. The pearl only shows in direct sun or under street lights, etc. I caught it at an "extreme" moment for those photos, usually it just looks purple.

One note - my 2009 Certified HHR is still under the 48K bumper-to-bumper, and I got my dealer to replace my rear bowtie (gold was bubbling up) with a new one for free. If you are under 48K and are under warranty, go for it. I am going to cover my bowties with black vinyl, but wanted them perfect in case I change my mind.

I would have gone that route had warranty been an option, I liked the gold but not if I had to pay for it. Now that both front and back are painted that pearl purple I wouldn't go back. It really stands out.
