No. Fish eye comes from not prepping the surface good enough before paint. Most people dont clay bar before paint.

What's a "fish eye"? A small, white dot, surrounded by a ring of paint—caused when paint for various reasons will not stick to the surface. Fish eye is most often caused by a spot of oil, grease or wax on the surface.

Ok, that clears it up. My reasons for asking about wax removal then clay bar is I wanted to know for when it's time to wax the HHR again. I don't think it's right to apply new wax over old wax.
I'll have to try the $3 of prep all!

HERE is a page I found through google that explains the clay bar process pretty good, I believe.

a clay bar just smooths the surface and frees it of things that make the paint feel rough ( kinda like wet sanding in a way) i dont think it would remove all of the wax from the surface

According to a friend who does striping and lettering..............either alcohol is okay for vinyl striping, use denatured of painting. Make sure that you make a path wide enough to extend beyond the width of the stripe. Otherwise, you will have an adhesion problem. I ran into that when I applied my vinyl striping. (now I know why it comes in a 150' roll )
