Well, I live up in the Sierra Nevada at about 3,500 ft elevation so we definitely get snow- but not all the time. Maybe 5-6 times every winter at my elevation. And there's typically about 12 feet of snow only 20 miles up the mountain from me. So you could get your snow fix here too!

Where I live when the forecast calls for snow or ice they spray a mixture of brine & beet juice on the streets ahead of time. It seems to work okay, and doesn't cause quite as much residue on your car, but in some areas like bridges they still scatter a whole lot of salt.

I pour black pepper all over my car just before it snows. Then when they put the salt down on the streets and the salt gets on the car, I just lick it off and it tastes great!!

Only when it eats it`s way through the metal from the backside and turns the paint surface into a boil and burst the next time you wash it.

Sorry you made it sound like you never get Snow since you were speaking about Road Salt. Sorry I mis-understood your post, Da! It must be the cold that is here in Chicago today (very very cold)

And here I was feeling chilled with it being in the mid-60's and sunny today...
I lived in the bay area for 12 years and that was the closest I've ever come to "seasons"

I really can not fathom any of this.
SoCal seasons: rain, wind, heat/fire, earthquake's (shake 'n' bake is common here!)

drive safe and keep warm!

I also need to wash my car but it is so cold right now I have to wait. I try not to drive her when it is snowy or the roads are too salty. I got laid off permanently (company downsized) from my job so I can stay home most of this winter. I get max Unemployment compensation so I love staying home instead of having to suffer going outside at 6am. And my beloved HHR can stay in the garage the most of this winter. Hopefully I can get a another car to drive next winter, instead of salting up the HHR.

Can't wait for tomorrow stay inside where it's warm and watch both AFC and NFC championship games! GO PACKERS!!
