Daverb, you should have done the flames black. That would have tied in the spoiler and the boards better.
Deb leave them orange

I would leave it the same color as the car.

If you did go contrast, go black and then follow it around below the bumper areas.

Deb, Keep them Orange ( My favorite stock HHR color ) and add some roll chrome to bring it together.

Yeah, Tieing the car together is the real trick. Our red one has a chrome obsession and other than that I can only think of adding black to it as an accent.

I will likely do some lower front of the car/spoiler area painting since I seem to ALWAYS scrape it on curbs Right now the plastic in that area has some deep scars that can be all but erased if I paint the area black. Race and Street offer a mirrored spoiler for this area. That would last about a day on our car And it would show all the neat scars from two sides

Here is a bit of the chrome I added to our running boards:

Oh, and I still haven't fixed the crooked chrome! The other side looks great though

Thanks for all the great comments...I have decided to leave them orange when they are done.

Harpo...I have the same strip of chrome above mine as you do on yours...but mine isn't crooked. Will have to redo that when the boards are replaced...and make sure it's NOT crooked.

hey Chris....

A bit "touchy" about getting credit based on the style of your post???? If that's the case, you better go back and read all the posts in this thread. I believe the thread originator gave you credit in post #18. RELAX
