Cool Solstice wheels

I just bought a set of solstice wheels off e-bay. Many sellers said the wheel would work with no problems, but know I read that you need spacers on the front! I saw the pics of the red HHR w/solstice wheels on it but what size are the tires? I was thinking of a 225 45 18?? Anyone done this The wheel is
18x8 with a 55mm offset Factory 17's are 6.5 wide with a 42mm offset.
Any info will help.

I agree...those 18's would look great...except the offset looks to be completely different than HHR, so you might have a dune-buggy on your hands.

The offset makes the wheel stick in further than the originals to not Dune Buggy but Super Tuck.

That's gonna look good. I threatened to take the wheels of my hubby's Sky and put on my HHR

The Sky wheels are the same as the Solstice 18x8 with a 55mm offset. When I tryed just the wheel on it cleared. Just by a hair but it cleared. I hve seen some 18x8 after marketwheels with a 45mm off set so I might run a 1/4" spacer which is 8mm to equal a Solstice wheel with a 47mm offset Hopefully it works

I went down to my local Discount Tire Co. and have them mount a 225 45 18 on to a wheel. It did not RUB!!! I drove the car back and forth and turned from side to side. Even when I drove out into the parking lot no problems. They ordered the other tires(they had one) And the others will be in in a few days!!!!
