Southern Comfort Kit

Good day Y'all,

I looked through some of the threads that came up when I searched for southern comfort and didn't see what I was after.

I'm wondering if anyone has ordered a full kit from them and have installed it? I would like to know what the quality of the pieces is like? How well does everything go together? What is the service like? Have you had any problems with the company in terms of placing and order and shipping etc.?

Some of you may know that my HHR was hit in the drivers side door and is in for some major repairs right now. I asked the dealer how much they would charge to put running boards on instead of the a new rocker moulding piece on the one side. The price quoted was extremely high.

I remembered that I liked the Southern Comfort running boards and called them up. The price is $750 for the boards or $795 for the entire package. So I'm thinking about ordering these but I don't want to end up with parts that are junk or don't line up with body panels and such.

Does anyone have first hand knowledge of the Southern Comfort kit?

Thanks,

I may be mistaken, but I thought the whole kit was closer to $2000. I only know of a very few who got the spoiler.

This link will give you all the part numbers (http://www.scomfort.com/dealer_suppo...201032761.pdf), but I can't find anywhere where they list the prices. It looks like they've redone their website since I was there last.

I was looking at their parts pdf. I spoke with a parts sales guy and he said the running boards were $750. I then asked what the KIT 103276 was and he said that was all the pieces sold together and he mentioned the price was only $795. Maybe he was looking at something wrong, maybe it was $1795 and he didn't see the 1 in the price or maybe their system was showing the wrong number. I don't know because I didn't question the price I just wanted a price and an estimate for the shipping.

It would make a lot of sense that the whole kit is significantly more than the price of two running boards but sometimes companies significantly mark down their "package" prices so that they can move more inventory rather than be stuck with random pieces that aren't selling very well. I don't actually know, maybe I'll find for sure in a couple of days once I've had some time to weigh out the various options.

Way back when, this company just didn't seem to have a clue about parting these out. Took a LONG time just to get part numbers. When I first talked to them back in 06, they were doing dealer conversions only!

I had also inquired back in 06 about getting running boards and they said that they only do full conversion set up through their dealer network. I guess it all started to change when they started to offer their rear wings as individual sales. They must have realized that there was greater potential in selling pieces to clients.

Now, if only I could get a feel for their quality of parts and service and doing business with them.

Gonna have to agree with EL REY, reminds me of a very cheap Honda ricer bodykit.
