Stock LS Lugnut question

I got a question for owners with stock steel LS wheels. I am putting on a set of 16 steel rims and hubcaps in place of my 17" polished for winter. I need to know hwo the bucaps attached to the rims. Do they hook under the lugnut, or under the cap on the lugnut. I called the dealer and the black caps are not available for sale seperate, only as a package deal with wheel cover. I only need the lugnuts and caps. and then he tells me each lugnut is $ 5.87 each, so 117.00 total and I don;t even ge the caps.

So, do I really need the black cap, or does the wheel cover get held on by the lug itself. Thanks.

They look to be the type that are held down by the lugs. Caps should only be for decoration.

The caps on the wheelcover screw on to the lugnut. The lugs do not hold the cover on.....Regards

So the caps are what hold the wheel covers on. Thanks. Guess I am just gonna run black rims for the winter unless I can come up with a set of stock lugs and caps cheap, not paying dealer prices. So if anyone has a set laying around they want to part with, email me. thanks.
