Mike (or anyone for that matter) maybe you can comment also on the stubby versus the three size one you also sell. Aside from appearance, any major performance differences?
I have the stubby from SoCalHHR's and I love mine. Have not noticed any difference in reception, except when we went to Estes Park...and it's hard to get anything there...so just switched to CD player. Think it just depends on how strong the signal is for some stations.

From what I understand, the difference between the 2 sets that Mike sells is giving folks a choice on what length antenna they would like to have. When I hooked up with HaysHotRod, who lives here in town, he had the new 3 piece set and said he has no problems whatsoever with it. If I'm not mistaken, the new ones are stiffer than the stock fishing pole, plus you can change them depending on which one you think you might want on the car at the moment. With these, you don't have the problem with them bending and hitting the roof of the car when you're traveling at highway speeds or in the wind. As far as functionality...I would presume that the longer they are...the better the reception, but I've heard of people who remove them completely and reception is still great...but who wants that empty hole on the roof either.

Hopefully, what I have posted is correct...but I'm sure if it's not, someone will let me know.

Here's a picture of mine on my HHR...this is the original stubby.

Here's a picture of the set of 3 on Mike's site. Don't recall seeing closeup photos of them on an HHR here on the forum though. Best thing I can suggest is for you to visualize the stock fishing pole in several different lengths...but not as flexible.

it cost me $2.29 and about 20 mins of work including the drive down to the auto parts store, to mod my factory antenna, and it looks very nice and stock, and i dont lose reception AT ALL. and yes it just rained here in Vegas, so no wise cracks about the dirty HHR

Your modded stock antenna looks nice, a little longer then the stubby but still nice....BTW, what cost you $2.29?

I have the stubby antenna and have no problems, then again I don't listen to the radio.

This is the best shot I've got of my chrome stubby.

Hope this helps.

ya its about an Inch longer then the billet stubby. as for the $2.29 it was a small tube of Black silicon sealant for the tip of the antenna.

So did you just cut the fishing pole off? I actually like that look.

I got the same stubby Deb got from SoCal's. Got tired of it hitting my sunroof when driving alittle fast . No problems and look's good.
