Did you use automotive paint and clearcoat, or something from a spraycan?

Both...

I used automotive paint in a spraycan... along with automotive clearcoat in a spraycan.

The trick is to make sure you do a slight buffing with a very fine grade automotive sandpaper after each coat to give it a deep depth and assure each coat of paint and clear adheres to the prior coat smooth.

 

Same place most others on here purchased them... unfortunately I'm at work and the link is at home but if you do a search here, you'll find a number of sites where they are available.
