Maybe it's just me but I don't pay much attention to the various headlights approaching at night. Some are yellow, some are white......

It's not so much the color, if they are not focused, what's the point? Unless you do a complete switch/conversion like en0mie did, it will just be glaring bright light to oncoming traffic. They won't think "Cool!", they'll think "WTF!!".
If you just want to change the color, you can buy tint-sheets pre-cut for the HHR in blue and yellow on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Headl...spagenameZWDVW

They'll likely think "where's a cop when you need them?" I usually do whenever I'm confronted by a vehicle with misfocused lights.
The NHTSA has been reminding manufacturers about the need to comply with FMVSS standards on replacement light sources, and that the reflector and light source gets approved as a combination.
http://isearch.nhtsa.gov/files/deetz.ztv.html was one of the interpretations that has resulted on a lot of the conversion kits that were on fleabay a couple of years ago disappearing, or having the worthless "off-road or show use only" disclaimer.
