i have since found out that you can use a small air brush and t shirt colors they use with the air brush and paint the seats while in the car.

a guy w a saturn did it and it looked awesome. i am going to redo mine.
Air gun is around $50 and paints u can use are unlimited colors.

Does the paint leave a rough feeling to the cloth afterwards? I assume you're talking about the Dupli-Color interior dress up paint also?

I checked out the seats in CJ's HHR when he was here in Denver to find out that exact thing Chi-Town. They didn't appear to be rough in my opinion at all, and that includes all the seats, which I did check out too. Figured as much time as he spends in his HHR, that he might have the drivers seat worn down. Rode in the back seat when I went to dinner with his family and sure enough, they are all the same. Very nice mod he has done there.

Thanks, exactly what I wanted to know. I'd sure hate to have itchy/scratchy arm from the armrest or back from a constant poke of the paint.

Well at first the seat was kinda of rough but after a couple of days it starting to smooth out again. This is what I used. http://www.duplicolor.com/products/vinyl.html
