Nice job, How long did it take to dry? Did that same paint cover both the vinyl and cloth?

Yeah it worked for the vinyl and the cloth. At first I didnt do the vinyl i left it gray and it looked ugly so i decided to do the whole thing black and the inside blue ill be doing the drivers seat today and the back seat next week. After that ill be doing the door panels... well I did 3 coats of each color after i finished the last coat I waited about an hour and it was completely dry.

Very nice mod he has done there.
If I recall, didn't CJ use an actual fabric paint on his versus a regular spray paint?

you can also use t-shirt fabric paint and it comes in millions of colors. only problem is you have to buy an airbrush paint gun. you can get them at hobby shops of all kinds for around $50 to $60.

with this you dont have to take the seats out and paint them while they are in the HHR.

I would be a little leery about painting my seats. I would be worried about the paint rubbing off on my clothes

dries in 15 min if that and it does not come off on your clothes unless u sit on it like right after you do a coat and even then i dont think it would. the material absorbs it fast

i think we that have done it would have thought about that. mine has been done for months. check pics in the members gallery under my name

is the black on the vinyl ????

i dyed a couple interiors back in the late 70/80's and NEVER had any luck with the dye adhering to vinyl pieces............

i thought that maybe they had invented better dyes by now, but maybe not

i had contemplated using stuff form this place (had actually talked to them on the phone) on my classic......but was still concerned about it permanence

http://www.leathermagic.com/

i wound up buying seats that were already colored close enough to what i was going to do...........

your seats DO look great ...... i hope you can get the color to stick
