2006 HHR LT2 - want to add XM

Howdy! I am currently in the market for an HHR! I have narrowed it down to a 2006 LT2 but it does not have XM installed. I has the upgraded radio (RPO US8) and the Pioneer speakers (RPO UQ3). When I spoke to the parts guy at the dealership he wasn't sure if XM could be added to that radio. The radio has the CAT button and it seems that it can be added but I would like to know from someone that has had this done.

Anyone have any info?

Thanks
Ken

Since your radio has the CAT button, you should be able to add the XM kit. I have an 07 LT which came without XM. It also has the CAT button, so I added a third-party XM kit, which works fine. I found out later that Chevy has an XM kit for about the same price, so if I had it to do over, I would use the Chevy parts.

Good Luck!

I know this is an old post but I have the same combination and would like any additional information on this "third party" kit. My Chevy dealer doesn't have a clue what I'm talking about and all they recommend is hooking up a standard xm radio with the little audio wire into the aux jack

You could try GOOGLE or EBAY or BESTBUY, etc.
