So I really don't mind the factory 7 speaker system, I see no need to have more bass or after market speakers.

My issue is with the factory headunit (MP3, 6 disc, aux in - 'US9')

I hate the fact that I use my Ipod for 99% of my music, and I have to click thru songs on the ipod itself and not the steering wheel controls, I find it distracting and annoying.

My question to someone who has more knowledge about this than I do... If I was to find a UUI head unit for an 09', and get it unlocked thru GM or have my car programmed for the dif head unit, I would be able to use steering controls for the ipod? would it just plug in, wouldn't need any other accessories to make it work?

What about a PAL cable for my current headunit? I found part # 19201522 seems like it would work? Anyone have opinions on this?

I really don't want to do an aftermarket head unit, I want to keep it all factory, long as the conversion price stays reasonable.
