Aftermarket deck install

Hello,

I am wondering what is all needed to install a sony cdx-gt660up into my 2009 HHR LT, 7 speaker.

I am a bit confused by all these other things needed besides just a harness.

What I think I need:

Wiring harness
Dash kit
Antenna adapter?
Something for chimes?
Something for the steering wheel controls?

Thanks,

Onlyjds

I do not have onstar or xm. The only thing in the car, visibly without tearing things apart, is the grille over the subwoofer.

Do you know if the deck will fit? Our cars have a very shollow area for the deck & only a few fit in the hole without cutting some stuff behind it.
You can get all the parts you need at crutchfield.com , to get everything to work it's pricey but worth it in the long run. Do your homework first then

Yep , it is shallow back behind the head unit .
Follow this link to this members install .... The steering first wheel adapter did not work . Use the Axxess ASWC , it will work fine ....
Shop around for you parts and head unit

So, I found a dash kit, wiring harness, and an Axxess ASWC-1.

Still need:
Chime box
Antenna adapter

Metra Online has AX-ADBOX1, is this my chime box?

They also show the following antenna adapters:
40-CR30
40-CR20
40-CR10

I think the first one is correct but I don't want to buy the wrong one.

Sonic electronix or crutchfield will sell you the correct parts you need .
I personally have my parts ordered by the installer . There is a host of reasons I do not touch the factory wiring in the dash . Mistakes can be costly...
The best advice I can pass onto you is go to your local installer and put it their hands .
If there is a problem , it is their problem and not your to fix .... These modules have been know to not work out of the box .......
