Amp cuts out

Amp cuts out
Here is a question for all the installers out there. I'm currently running a eclipse four channel and a audiobahn mono in my system. Main power comes from the battery, through a distirbution block, then to each amp. The ground wires each go to a good clean ground and the 12 volt source is hooked into the ignition. This system worked good for a month or so and now is starting to have problems. The eclpise runs fine, no overheating or shutting down. The audiobahn however, has shut down. It worked for about a month and then shut down. I checked it later that day and got it working again, not sure how just moved some wires around and thought possibly bad ground. Checked everything over, all checked out and on my way. Worked good again for about a week and now it has cut out again. I narrowed it down through a volt meter that I am not getting the 12 volt swithced power source. Even if I hook up a direct battery power the amp will turn on for a split second then shut down. Fuses are good on both amps and there is power coming through on the 12 volt source.
So the question is , have I got a bad wire job here somewhere that I haven't found yet or does this sound more like a problem with the amp itself? Thanks ahead for any input into this problem.

hey stick i had this same prob u need a relay put in on ur remote wire. i work at best buy as a mobile spec we just did this to mien its because of the DATA system in the hhrs. the module to replace a headunit is roughly a 100 but the relay is liek 20 . so 20 will fix ur probs

you can pick up a relay SPDT relay from radioshack or autozone for about $5.
12V ACC source to 86
Ground on 85
12V Constant 87
Output to amp Remote 30
dont use 87a and fuse all power connections. BTW only use a Bosch Relay

Thanks for the info. I am not doubting either of you, just wondering why it worked for about a month and then decided to quit. I'll get the relay as soon as I can, but I'm getting sent out of town for work Thursday for about four weeks. Thanks again.

troubleshooting is an art not easy to t-shoot something like this online. i am just giving you something to try and if that doesnt work we can move on. any pics of the install?
otherwise sounds like a bad solder on the circuit board which is common for Audiobahn, but not always the case.

I'll try the relay first. If that doesn't work then maybe I'll just go for a new amp Do I need a relay for the other amp too? I would guess so, I wouldn't think I would need one for the mono amp and not the four way.
