Another XM Question

Hi All, I am new to the group. My name is Johnny, and I am a proud owner of a 2006 Chevy HHR.

I have been reading some posts before I decided to post mine, to try to answer my question. I still don't know what the answer may be.

I have the Radio with the "CAT" Feature and the aux input. So I am assuming according to the manual it is XM ready. I push the band button and it only goes to AM, and FM. There are no AM 2 or FM 2, or XM for that matter. If I push the "CAT" button, it does say "XM Feature". Can it still be that XM is not installed in this vehicle? THanks for your time.

Johnny Lubeck

The XM box isn't installed, but you can add the Terk XMDirect system to the radio.

I'm not as technical on these terms--what does this mean?

I have a similar issue with my 07 LT2 that JohnnyLu has--I see XM on the radio, etc., but don't know if it means it has XM (supposed to have 3 months free apparently that would end this month), or it is just XM ready? I went out this morning to look for the "0" station to get the code number, but couldn't find it

I wasn't too concerned before, but my sister loves it on her 07 Tahoe and is renewing the subscription (and I liked what I heard)--made me think it would be good to have too.

Hope this thread hasn't been beaten to death already (tried to do a search).

thanks!

My car also came with a free subscription, If you push the Cataloge button to change from AM to FM to XM does that work? Then turn to channel "0" to find you ID number! I also love it and renewed the subscription!!!

I can't seem to get to the "0" part...I'll email my dealer and ask him. Thanks for the help!

Do you have a black antenna at the rear? That is where the factory XM antenna is located.
