CAN? How Extensive?
I am not sure where else to put this question, so since my radio led me to this question, I am putting it here!
I am researching either upgrading the Stereo in my LS, or replacing it with an aftermarket. I have posted specific questions before, trying to get a feel for it. I do like the way the stock looks in the car. This is a 2007 HHR LS
However, on to the questions:
The stock stereo has a 'network' connection. I believe the stereo gets instructions from the 'main computer" or the 'bcm'.
I think this network is a CAN(Controller Area Network), Doe anyone have any information about the details of this network? I am looking for Speed, Protocol, What is connected to it, etc.
As a Computer Systems Geek, I find this fascinating. I would love to see what I could do with this, and if this is something that can be monitored/captured.
