Component Speakers for Front Doors - How to patch into stock wiring...

I just finished doing this myself, and wanted to note that the wires stated were not in the locations stated above for the front L/R channel if you do not have the pioneer system. The rears are however in that bundle (and continue back to the door). The speaker wires I had to tie into are in the connector that splits the front signal to tweeter and woofer located just above the bundle shown. (they are directly spliced with no remote crossover, only the cap at the driver, like stated before)
What i had to do was cut both from the connector and tie into those (after aftermarket xover) for my woofer/tweeter
...btw, works flawlessly, I have less noise now than I did with my stock system!! awesome

Your 2009 has a totally different connector between the door and body too - that is probably why what you saw was different. I know I looked at the picture earlier in this thread and went that looks simple and then I got into my 2009.

sno white, im not sure about the door connector being different (i just tapped in before the door connector.. I am not talking about that one, its a different connector, still in the kick panel.. just at the very top. the drivers side is up there a bit, but is still accessible w/o taking dash apart.
The wires were also only 20 awg (less power coming from stock head unit than stock amp). Also if you follow that bundle back, it goes to the rear of the car where an amp would be if you had one. now since w/o the stock amp, the power comes from the head unit, there is no need for these wires to go back there. This is why it is not found in that bundle leading back. but it is not by any means more difficult to wire.
remember i dont have the pioneer system like the OP does.. I was just giving this info for anyone w/o it looking to do this upgrade.

Yeah, they are different from the picture earlier in the thread. On ours there is plenty of space at the top and bottom of the connectors to run two sets of 16 awg wire through there. It took about an hour from start to end per side and well worth the time.
