Component or two way?

Component or two way?
I recently replaced the factory radio with and alpine double din with the alpine imprint modual. I then upgraded the speakers with Alpine Type-S speakers all the way around. 6 1/2" in the rear and components in the front. My question is; the tweeters took the place of my tweeters and the "woofers" replaced the door speakers. I started thinking that maybe I would get a more full sound if I swaped the Component woofers with the 2-way 6 1/2" speakers in the rear.
The original setup had two tweeters and 4 2-ways speakers, and by replacing the front door speakers with woofers only, I feel like i removed some of the sound from the vehicle.
any thoughts on this or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I did the same thing, Alpine, MBQuartz component front and coaxial rear, I like the added highs from the rear, with the separate high low up front, different strokes for different folks. Switch the fronts see how you like them, thats all that counts anyway.

Are you compnonets amplifed other than the HU amp? If so I would try that first. What you precieve as "missing sound" could in fact be a lack of power to produce that sound. You are talking aobut a component set that is designed to handle about 80wrms and you are giving it maybe 15. Every component speaker I have ever installed with an amp has been less than impressive, put and amp on them and they come to life.
Just my thought.

Are you running all of these from the head unit? Please say no...
I bet what was already in there would have sounded great on some amps.
My stock tweeters sound 10 times better on an amp. And Note that I didn't say LOUDER.
