I currently pay $15 a month for my XM so $180 a year in my Navigator.

I have XM in my new 10' HHR but I am going to be changing out the head unit for a DVD/Nav/XM and so on.

Put an Mp3 in and listen for free or if you have a Iphone you can download Pandora radio for free and listen to all kinds of free music and attach it to your MP3 port.

I'm not subscribed to XM but would like to. My radio goes to an XM feature, but then goes back to am/fm. It would go to a channel 1 like my GT500 does with Sirrius. Does this mean my SS is not XM capable? It has two antennas on the roof. One in front of the sunroof and one in the very rear. Or am I doing something wrong?

I also just got the $77/yr promotion (+$8/yr US music royalty fee - whatever that is). I called the 800-347-0600 number posted above, and the phone was answered by US customer service. He started to go through all the (significantly more expensive) "specials" they were offering. Once he finished, I simply asked for the $77/yr promotion. He disappeared for about 30 seconds, came back on the line, and said "no problem". Took my CC, and it was done in about 5 minutes total. Quite painless.

Thanks to all that posted their experiences here.

If you wait a few months after expiration they start sending offers. Just signed up for 5 months for $25.00.

A word of advice about XM. If you've given them your credit card number, call their "customer care" number and ask them to delete all credit card information from their system. If you don't, they will automatically charge you full price when your subscription runs out.

Call them back the next day to confirm all information has been deleted. XM has horrible customer service and you need to follow up.

When you're ready to renew next year, tell them your favorite station is no longer offered and you don't want XM any longer. They will immediately offer the $77 deal for another year.
