Is Dealer Programming Required?
The F350 dually I sold a bit ago had a Pioneer AVIC-X940BT installed which my dogs loved so they could watch videos when traveling. So I bought a 2007 HHR LT over the weekend and it had one of the premium sound systems with a 6 disc MP3 CD changer. I decided to pull it and install a new Pioneer AVIC-X950BH using a CRUX SOOGM-16B interface and an antenna adapter. All went well, I even did the bypass on the mute wire switch and also the ground of the parking brake wire. I can play videos and MP3 files from a thumb drive, MP3 CD-ROMs and find HD radio channels in the San Diego area.
BUT there is no sound? No static, scratchiness, etc like the speakers are dead. There is no sound when pressing the On-Star button either? I redid the colored/colored+black stripe wire connections and they are all fine. I have screens, videos, etc so the unit has red and yellow power and also a good ground. The dealer where I bought the pieces has not installed one of these yet so I sort of like a test case it seems? Do I need to get the dealer to reprogram anything possibly to recognize the unit?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Oh yes, hello everyone as I just joined!

Well I talked to the head tech fellow at CRUX and he asked if I had connected the blue with white stripe wires and I said no as the instructions said they were for an external amp. He noted the adapter was acting like an external amp so connect the wires and all will be well. I did that and the sounds are now playing just fine.
