Direct Wiring for 2006 HHR with 7 speaker system and Amp

Direct Wiring for 2006 HHR with 7 speaker system and Amp
(for those who choose to keep the factory amp and change the head unit)
(or those who wish to use the factory amp with a carputer)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Harness 1]
Battery(+) = [RED/WHITE]
Ground(-) = [BLACK/WHITE]
Left Front Low Level = [DARK-GREEN(-)] [TAN(+)]
Right Front Low Level = [LIGHT-GREEN(-)] [LIGHT-GREEN/WHITE(+)]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Harness 2]
Amp Turn On Signal (same as power antenna) = [PINK]
Left Rear Low Level = [BROWN(-)] [BROWN/WHITE(+)]
Right Rear Low Level = [TAN(-)] [DARK-BLUE(+)]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The ignition line will have to be sourced elsewhere
as it is controlled by the GMLAN.

Check the fuse panel to the right of the center console for a source.

[Hint](Power windows work after you shut off your car, until you open a door!)

Power windows are retained accessory, which is probably interlaced with the dome supervision...that's not a wire you're going to want to jump. The BCM is in the same panel as the fusepanel...you can grab the main accessory wire from the BCM- that's going to be your best bet.

You can also grab accessory at the ignition harness

It's the brown wire there

To enhance your work, here are pictures of all the audio connectors and pin outs.
