If your radio has a button labeled "CAT" then it is XM capable. You don't have to have the antenna to have a radio capable of it. I have the radio, but no antenna or nothing. Sucks because I wish I had it...

The head unit is XM capable if you have the 'CAT' button, but there is an XM receiver module that mounts in the passenger side near the wheelwell that you need to actually receive XM. If you aren't getting the emergency weather channel and the XM promo ads, then you do not have this module.

Without the rear antenna, could you still get XM radio? I have a radio with the "CAT" button, but my HHR doesn't have a rear antenna since it didn't come with OnStar. Is the rear antenna required for XM?

There is a kit that you can get from the dealer. I think it's like $150, but you then have to install it or then pay to get it installed. I think the module goes between the sheetmetal and plastic interior by the passenger side rear window.

thanks everyone i have the cat button so therefor i have it so i guess i need the module idk. Becuase it wont even come on in the interface kind of upsetting really. Cause xm is awesome had it in my old 07 2lt hhr
