Factory GM Navigation from Equinox/Torrent
Was wondering if anyone had the idea of putting the navigation from the 1st gen Equinox/Torrent in the HHR. GM part # 20801306. I would get the 2009 model since it is equipped with the bluetooth feature since i have a 09 hhr ss. It is the same size and they use the same non navigation radios we have in our cars and wouldn't see why it wouldn't work.

Have you had any experience with the GM Navigation Systems?
Frankly, after having 5 cars with the system, I personally wouldn't, any longer, order it in a vehicle. They are complicated, to the point that almost every vehicle specific forum has negative comments about it, and they are somewhat inaccurate and the maps are outdated by 1 1/2 years at the time of intro. And they are expensive. A good after market, dash unit is much cheaper and reliable. I also believe, as several of my vehicles were, the system is DVD driven. An update DVD is $200-$400 depending on vehicle.
On the other hand, my wife would not buy a car without it. But I AM more demanding than she is.

Why wouldn't it work? Both cars use onstar and Why would the module be different?

The only reason for wanting the stock navigation is because I hate the look of aftermarket units in vehicles. I want the oem look in the vehicle so it looks stock from the factory.
