Played in heavy metal rock and roll bands in my 20's back in the early to mid 1970's, then woke up almost deaf one morning out of the blue in the early 1990's.
Now in my mid fifties and after treatments I managed to get back 57% in my left ear and 74% in my right, but can't make out what someone is saying two feet away from me in a crowded enviorment like a restaurant, which can be embarassing when you get something you though you heard because after saying excuse me three times you still didn't hear it right.
Now you get kids putting huge amounts of subs and woofers causing who knows what kind of SPL levels in a sealed vehicle like an HHR, I can only pity them for what they will be missing someday. The ironic thing is, I'm a sound contractor by trade, thank goodness for advancements in headphones and hearing assistance systems. Unfortunatley it doesn't help to hear the birds in the trees.
Anyway.....can anyone suggest a good 2-Din headunit with GPS, can't rely on hearing the wife giving directions, or her being able to acurately reading a map for that matter.
