Got my overhead in, it can be done!

There is a 4-point calibration setting, which I assume is the default, and there is a 16-point calibration. They call it "adjusting the response positions of the touch panels (Touch Panel Calibration)." You have to hold the menu button for more than two seconds and the adjust screen pops up. They supply you with a stylus pen to do the 16-point one from your driving position I guess. I still have to do that.
I have noticed that from the driver seat the sensor on some of the buttons are off a little. I'll probably do the calibration tonight. Thanks for reminding me.

Just Bought a 2008 HHR SS
I want to put in a Pioneer AVIC-Z1 in my 2008 HHR SS. Are there any tricks to this? I have the Pioneer sub woofer option. I'm assuming I'll need the steering wheel control adapter, On-Star adapter, antenna adapter and a double DIN radio adapter. Any suggestions? Should I just call Crutchfield?

For what I paid it was definitely worth the price. I got the AVIC-D3X package, which includes the Ipod adapter and bluetooth module, wiring harness, steering wheel adapter, dash kit and 2 sets of video cables for just under 1G. Doing it yourself saves you some money and just saying you did it yourself is even better!
I haven't had the opportunity to use it for the last week and a half. My SS is having mechanical issues, but other than that everything works great. Bluetooth took me forever to set up, I should have read the directions. I would have saved A LOT of time. I still need to install the steering wheel adapter and hook up the AV cables to link the HU and overhead so I can play off one or the other and that way I can get rid of the FM modulator for the overhead. It sucks!
