That's a Uniden radio with a Little extra punch I use a cobra mag mount with a center load. It's all black and looks ok when on, but most of the time I have it mounted inside on a small steel plate in the cargo area. As you can imagine I don't get much range with it inside, but on the e-way I can talk to anyone within a half mile up to 1 mile. With it on the roof I get an honest 3 miles of receive, but some of my Friends say they can hear me to about 8 miles out

The disk comes with the Garmin's, but not sure what type you got?
I bought an entire extra mount on ebay (with the disk) I leave that one in my truck (with extra power cord) so I can just move the unit back and forth.
If you have a Garmin, that mount that TEB-HHR found would work perfect in that spot!

I have this, and it works GREAT!!!! Just set it on the dashboard and you're all set. I like the fact then I don't have the suction cup mark on my window.

To complement our snooty attitudes? I was wondering how long it would take for someone to make that crack on this thread! So show us how you have you ham gear mounted in your HHR. I thinking my way through the problem of installing a 2 meter rig. Gene/KF7BSF

Thats why I don't like the smaller units,,, no range, unless you have it tweaked..maybe amped.....could always go upper/lower with a Galaxy......Have a Uniden hand held but only good for close range, Don;t like it.
Could mount to a cross rail make it like like a RC Car..!

For what I use mine for, I am satisfied with the range when it is outside the car. Since mine is "amped" up a bit, I can talk further than I can hear a stock radio. Some of the truckers also have a bit () more power and we can talk at much further ranges.

I would love to get into HAM, but don't have the time or patience to get the license.
For you HAM guys, is there such thing as a HAM radio that also has the (Children's) CB band? I would love to go this route as long as I didn't have to have 2 radios to also talk with the truckers....
