I bought the iSimple PXAMG Ipod gateway and the PGHGM2 harness. I must be damned because I can’t make it work. The radio will not recognize the gateway device. Can anyone shed some light on the hookup? The instructions are kind of screwy.

I've got the 2LT Pioneer with XM(not used/subscribed)

From Installation Instructions:
Locate the 14-pin and 16-pin female connectors on the PGHGM2 harness. Plug the vehicle’s 14-pin and 16-pin male connectors into the PGHGM2 connectors. Locate the 3 wires with the bullet connectors on the PGHGM2 harness (Purple/White, Purple, and Orange/Black) Locate the GREEN wire in the 14-pin factory connector that lines up with one of the 3 wires mentioned above. Disconnect the bullet connector on the corresponding wire. Leave the other two wires on the PGHGM2 harness connected. Connect these free ends to the bullet connectors on the orange and orange/black wires coming from the 24 pin black Gateway harness. Plug the male connectors of the PGHGM2 harness into the back of the radio. Plug the Black micro-fit 24-pin connector on the PGHGM2 harness into the PXAMG Media Gateway box.

When I locate the corresponding wire to the green wire (its the purple one) and disconnect it, the radio will not come on. I've checked and double checked with an Ohm meter and it is definitely the purple.

I'm confused now...
