CAUTION: Read your owners manual or the sticky about jumping your HHR !!!
The black terminal is NOT for jumping. You will kill your power steering fuse if you connect to it.

My brother in law installed stereos for about 3 years when going to college in Daytona. He hooked up my stereo and because he didn't have to run wiring through the firewall he hailed it as the easiest sub woofer installation he'd ever done.

You only have to pop out about 4 or 5 plastic panels and remove the lower seat belt mounting bolt to run your wires.

when i ran my wires for my system i ran them down the passengers side. only had to pop 3 panels out to run them.

there IS a hole on the firewall to run wires thru. its tricky, but i found it so i could run my wires for my LED underbody kit.

on the drivers front floorboad pull the carpet back and u will see some rubber padding. pull some of that back from the top and u will see a rubber plug. pop it out a lil and u will have room for wires. i ran 4 8ga wires thru there and haven't had a problem in the 5 months i have had the UB kit.

Any chance we could get a pic of where these wires are running through the firewall? I tried like h$ll to get through it and couldn't. I am trying to run a switch for some accent lighting.

I'll take a picture of it on my rental tomorrow at work.
