I have spent 1000s on stereos. You dont make a onetime investment. You always wanna upgrade. I got a good set of comps for 150. You hafta search and research. Mine are Exile car audio XP65s.

i have the factory 7 speaker Prem. system with faactory Sub and tweeters, but the tweeters are shot already , and factory sub isnt enough..
I have seen alot of people on here put a sub down right near the spare tire, but if time come i need to use the spare tire if i have a blow, how hard would it be to access it ?

How can anyone answer this question for you? Would not this be up to the individual? What it is worth to you may be different to me. It comes down to how much you like to listen to music. I have more than your max amount into mine, but that is because it's worth it to me.

I agree 110%. Most average ppl wont spend near 500-1000 on upgrades. Personal tastes (and budget) definately come into play. If you wont just a somewhat better sound you can spend around 500 and achieve that. For me I could easily spend another 2 grand on just door speakers and maybe id be happy. But you hafta look at your budget and ask yourself what can i spend.

$100-200

$200- 400

$300 - 500

$500+ - 750?

I'm looking for a component system of two 6" speakers, two tweeters and crossovers, door chime keep interface, head-unit mount, wire kits. etc...

I'm also trying to find and research in to custom fiberglass to tub the inner rear hatch of my car for the Sub and Amp's but need help and ideas.......
And to ideas on relocating the car battery.

Any help, input and ideas is greatly appreciated.
Ive been looking for a good set of components for a couple months now, havent found any Im happy with. I think youre looking at least $200/pair for a noticeable improvement over the factory front speakers.
The interface, dash kit and wiring is probably at least $150.
For subs and box, probably $200 at least, more likely $300-400 for a decent brand name.
Then amps, prices vary widely according to brand. Cheap 2channel and mono sub amps will be $250. Good starter ones more like $400.

So I think you have to put in at least $800 for a new system, and that doesnt include the head unit itself. You could try to find used stuff in good condition and save half that.

yea i have a good head unit i bought on close out at best buy a year ago, i have two channel amp for my sub and 4 channel amp for my speakers that are in good condition that was also in my last car i had before i bought a HHR
I just didint keep the speakers, cause they werent that great and the hhr has tweeters in the pillar that, i didnt have before, but my old car had 3 or 4 way speakers in the doors to help.

So im just replacing The speakers, getting the Slan04, and trying to get a custom sub box, and have it installed..
installing Pioneer DEH-P6900Ub Headunit
Directed Extreme 4 channel Bridgeable Amp (600 watt max) (all i could afford a few years ago. but it worked really well for all i needed
