How is it once it works?
I bought my 2007 2LT last of Septmeber.
The dealer was offering $500 in free accessories.
One that I selected was the Personal Audio Link.
I had it installed and then my XM radio would not work.
I don't have an iPod but my son does.
After I left the dealer my XM radio would go from the XM station to XM 1 and show No iPod then back to the XM station and then over and iver again.
Dealer said the control head was bad and they would have to order a new one.
So, now I've had 3 of 4 weeks of ownership without XM.

So this is the PAL you all are referring to...my car came with it installed. But I only have a generic MP3 player that works great with the jack. So far I can't justify forking out for an iPod--but I can see where it may be easier to use.
My main issue with the jack and the mp3 player is that I have to keep it by my side and manually change songs if I want to skip around (although I can still use the steering wheel volume controls). I know an iPod wouldn't have that issue. Also, when I park, I have to manually turn it off and unplug it and it doesn't charge while it plays.
I have to say, in the 6 weeks I've had Blackie, I look for any excuse to go driving, popping open the sunroof and cranking up the tunes--those standard Pioneer speakers sound great!

Initially the Service Manager got under the dash and began to exchange the PAL unit.
I knew this was a bad sign, when does a Service Manager ever get his hands dirty.
Well after 15 minutes he proclaimed, its done.
I got in the car turned it on and guess what, the same problem. XM kept searching XM1 for an iPod.
He then said in all his stupidity "We;ll have to call XM and have them flash the radio".
I asked if he had programmed the interface using the "Tech 2"?
He looked at me as if I were an idiot.
Then he gushed "well this is a new product and were not all that familiar with it", as he scrathed his crotch and head simultaneously.
Then I grabbed the installation instructions in the box and pointed him the the Tech 2 diagnostics section.
He then scratched his head and drove my HHR to the back, to get out of my view I expect.
He soon came back and proclaimed that terminal #? was not communication with the BCM "Body Control Module" and they were in the process of tracing the fault.
Two hours later he returned my HHR washed with the PAL working.
It appears that the initial Tech did not connect the XM reference wire correctly.
Now that I have it installed I am less than happy.
I installed and iSimple iPod module in my 2007 Silverado and that interface gives more control over the iPod by allowing folder searches.
So for now it is working.
I will soon have the installation documents scanned and available for those who want them.
But the docs show an installation into a Saturn Sky, and Pontiac Solstice, but never mention the HHR.
Also can anyone get me the how to for HHR Stereo removal?
Thanks

No, I need to remove the stereo so that I can install the Motorola Bluetooth Car kit.
In January all California drivers must use hands free cell phones.
Has anyone installed or used the Motorola T605 car kit?
Any tips would be appreciated.
