For those that added a sub to your system are you using a line output converter? also what is your bass like between different cd's, does the bass vary much?

I don't the the pioneer system w/sub so where do I find my wires to hook into my line level converter for my sub amp?

I'm using a line level output converter. Bass levels are different track to track even so I have a remote gain installed under the stearing wheel.

Where did you catch the wires for the line converter?

I'm using a converter as well. I spliced into the wires from behind the head unit and hid the converter below the console. There is a thread here that gives the colors for the speaker wires. My converter was kinda pricey, but it is able to adjust from 0 to 9 on the input level. Most pre amp outputs run around 5 and my dealer set mine to that.

Mine's similar... and was around $75-$100... not sure of the price because I just paid the shop's invoice and destroyed the evidence

He had a problem with line noise when he took the signal from further down the line... right off the HU was much cleaner. I can still hear it a bit at very low volume but that's because it's also driving the amp for my door speakers... if you're just adding a sub and leaving the door speakers off of the HU then the sub amp's crossover will take care of it all.

I think mine was right around 65 give or take. I had the line noise hiss too, until my dealer adjusted everything and took it out. Turned the inputs up a little and turned up the crossovers on the amp a lot. Now there is no hiss except a faint one with no music playing at a decent speed.

So we have a noise problem with running a line converter. I'll look into some kind of filter. I also bought this inline after line converter volume controll that allows you to adjust the signal, which will be nice for songs that have to much bass.

I don't think the noise comes from the converter itself. Might be wrong here, but I think running the rca wires from back to front might be picking up the noise. My converter came with a filter built in, so that helps some. The tuning of the amp is where it really helps. Also you may just need to move your wires around, whether it is the power, speaker, or rca any of them can pick up the noise.

What kind of rca cords are you running? are they good ones? also it's best to keep them away from any power wires.
