New speaker wires

Has anybody upgraded the speaker wires to the doors? Is it difficult to get the wire threaded through those rubber sleeves? I am going to do it anyway, just wanted a heads up.

I ran all new speaker wires in my setup. The stock wires looked to thin/cheesy for me. Be prepared to scrape some knuckles. Especially up front. Your creativity will be put to use here. I used a coat hanger as a fishing line. There's not a whole lot of room and the panels don't always play along.

It looks easy enough to get the wires from the panals-I already ran 3 sets of RCA's and trigger wire from back to front. The only problem I forsee is getting the wire through the rubber tube between the door and the interior. I took off the side panals on the dash, and the tube exits way up front.

What gauge wire did you use, NG? Also, I am not sure where to run it to. I want to try my head units's amp first in an attempt to avoid losing trunk space to a second amp. But, if I am not satisfied then I will have to run the wires to the trunk.

Right now, I have a 240 watt amp in mono that fits like a glove next to the battery, so the only trunk space I am losing is due to my huge sub box/speaker. And I want to experiment with other enclosures to see if I can find a set-up that sounds good yet is more out-of-the-way (possibley a 10 inch tube mounted on the back of the seat. I like having access to the inner compartment as well as the 2 storage bins. I even am trying to figure out a way of possibly using the rear door as a speaker enclosure, though the added weight will certainly cause problems in keeping the door open (maybe new hydralic arms).

Yup-but it is easier if the exit hole is accessable.
