night lights for pwr. windows??

Hey,
Do the power window switches light up at night? Mine do not, and how about the interor light switch, it does not light up either. I bought my 07 with about 12k miles on it, and love the little thing. Gas milage is not that great. have the bigger engine
Thanks, Mike

No, the switches do not light up. The convenience light (the little LED mounted in the ceiling above the console) is intended to illuminate the lower portion of the console.

the window buttons don't light up. that's what that little LED light in the ceiling is for, it's to light those up.

On my 08, i think pretty much the only thing that doesn't light up is just the window switches, seems like they could have just made them so they do instead of adding that stupid led light.

It's not so bad, eventually you get used to it. Think of the LED as mood lighting

I bought a 4" green LED tube, mounted it under the switch cover and wired it into the headlamp circuit. It backlights the switches very nicely. I cut the fingers off of a Blue Nitride Surgical Glove, and using 2 of them, slipped over the LED, it subdued the green to match the color of the dash lights in my 2008.

Here is the link discussing several ways to do this....
