OnStar

I just got a letter from my State Farm agent. They just gave me 12 months of Onstar for free! It was a total surprise. Not sure if it available for everyone.

Not a stupid question at all Andrey, State Farm is an insurance underwriter in the US and Canada that was founded in 1922 to provide automobile insurance primarily to farmers and agricultural workers. It is one of the largest underwriters in the country today with coverage for automobiles, homes, businesses, and personal life insurance.

Insurance agents are independent salespeople who represent the underwriter in local offices while selling policies to individuals and businesses. The agent is usually the first line of contact between a policy holder and the underwriter in the event of a claim or loss.

I understand now. "State Farm" - an insurance company. Judging by the fact that wrote Wort70 - mutual insurance or something like that.
System of independent insurance agents in the country - my dream. As you probably know, I - the insurer. But the Russian insurance market is still very young. I would say - the embryonic state.
Nevertheless, we are quickly evolving. Unfortunately, all insurance bosses are concentrated in Moscow. They have a prestigious education, but lazy and stupid (as most of the inhabitants of Moscow), + corrupted. Therefore, the development is not as fast as we would like.

Only bills! Not even a Calender, unless I go into their office.

Only because I just read this, in the WSJ.....

State Farm is the LARGEST Insurance company in America. It is bigger than number 2 and 3 on the list, combined.

Wort.....

Yeah, my wife received the same letter and initiated her expired OnStar. It took just a press of the button and NO credit card. Of course, I suspect they will "pester" her for a renewal, when the year expires.

According to my agent, this was a special arraignment/agreement between State Farm and OnStar.

If you allow State Farm to monitor your mileage via Onstar you may be entitled to a discount on your policy.
