Project Loud Wood (lol)
Well I figured I would start a topic to post all of my system install updates and photos in. I started by putting my JVC KWNT3HDT in and mounting my kicker bass knob on the center stack. Pics will be posted tonight.
What I am putting in
JVC KWNT3HDT with XM
Alpine type R 6.5 componants in the front
Alpine type R 6.5 coaxials in the back doors
Kicker zx650.4 4 channel amp
Kicker zx400.1 sub amp
1 Kicker CVR 12" in a 16x16x16 (1.74cf) ported box
The amps will be mounted on a rack under the rear storage compartment, and the stock "table" piece will cover it all. Only thing visable will be the sub box.

Thats the plan!
Ok so here are some pics!
My 2007 HHR LT Woody
Radio in
Bass knob in. I just drilled a hole for the shaft to go through, used 2 jam nuts to pinch it in place, and stuck the ZXRC face plate on the front of the dash with tape.
Close up
Back of the dash where you can see how much i butchered the bass knob. Better that than the dash!
Well that's all I have for today, waiting on a few more bits and pieces to arrive. I will have more in the coming weeks. Should I post more how to pics or just stick with the finished shots?

Looking good. I have a 'bass knob', too. I put mine between the rear wiper switch and the power outlet.
(Is it wierd that today's kids likely never knew that the power outlet was a cigarette lighter back in the day?)

Getting started on the amp rack.. I think i will keep it simple stupid (me)
Drilling holes in the center of where the amps will be, using spacers the amp wiring will tuck under the amp and pass through the center hole. Chances are since I work at an audio shop I will be changing amps quite often, and this method will allow for the different physical sizes. I will put handles on each side of this board and make the wires long enough I can simply pick up the entire assembly and have access to the spare tire
