radio pushbutton paint worn off; decals?
I'm sure others have had this problem...my pushbuttons have been used so much that the paint has worn off them in uneven patches. Looks sorta ragged, but sure are easier to see in the dark though! Has anyone painted over them, or maybe made/found decals to cover them. Not much of a problem, and the radio is still working great, so I don't plan a replacement quite yet.

no replies mean no fix?
I just figured that some of you customizers or audiophiles had seen a repair done for the worn but functional buttons, but if not, I'll just live with them 'til I replace the radio eventually. Still works great, just unsightly (no one but me would care). I probably will make some adhesive numbers to cover them.

My power button has done the same thing. Just haven't had the time or real concern to do anything about it. I was thinking to cover with a sticker, but you mentioned painting. Might have to give it a try.

Seems like your thread fell through the cracks, sorry about that.
Give these folks a call or drop them a line, I've used them in the past and they did a great job. Maybe they can replace the face plate on your OEM unit for a reasonable price.

maybe later, but not now
Thanks for the link. My buttons are still lit, just the cover paint worn away. I would use their repair service if I was going to keep the original radio forever, or purchase a replacement GM from them. If I have to remove it from the dash, or get the dealer to flash a replacement, then I probably will just go aftermarket with one from Crutchfield again (put a Pioneer in my '04 2500HD in 2005).
